Netflix has officially teamed up with the creators of the critically acclaimed game, *Sifu*, to transform its intense narrative into a cinematic experience. Announced back in 2022, the film adaptation was initially in the hands of Story Kitchen and Sloclap, the game's developer. But recent developments, as reported by Deadline, reveal that the project has grown substantially.

The streaming giant has enlisted T.S. Nowlin, acclaimed for his contributions to the Maze Runner franchise and Netflix's *Project Adam*, to craft the screenplay. While Derek Kolstad, who was initially involved in adapting *Sifu*'s story, might still be part of the project, his current role remains ambiguous.

The production team has been further bolstered by the addition of Chad Stahelski, the mastermind behind the *John Wick* series, and his company, 87Eleven Entertainment, who will serve as executive producers. Stahelski is also attached to another highly anticipated video game adaptation, *Ghost of Tsushima*.

Since its release in 2022, *Sifu* has captivated audiences worldwide, achieving over one million sales within the first three weeks. The game centers on a young martial artist driven by vengeance following their master's murder. Equipped with a mystical pendant that revives them after death but ages them significantly, the protagonist navigates a perilous path filled with danger and intrigue.
