Omori Cancels Switch and PS4 Physical Release in Europe

Fans of the acclaimed RPG Omori in Europe have faced a significant setback with the cancellation of the game's physical release for Nintendo Switch and PS4. The announcement came from Meridiem Games, the game's European publisher, via a post on Twitter(X), attributing the decision to technical difficulties with multilingual European localization.

A Series of Unfortunate Delays

The physical release of Omori in Europe was initially slated for March 2023, as listed on platforms like Amazon. However, fans experienced multiple delays, pushing the release first to December 2023, then to March 2024, and finally to January 2025. Those who pre-ordered were informed via email from Amazon about the latest postponement. Unfortunately, these delays have now led to the complete cancellation of the physical release.

When queried by a Twitter(X) user about the specifics of the localization issues, Meridiem Games stated that they could not provide further details beyond what was shared in their initial announcement.

This cancellation is particularly disappointing for European fans, as it was set to be the first opportunity for them to play Omori in Spanish and other European languages. Now, the only option for European players to own a physical copy of Omori for Switch and PS4 is to import a US version of the game.
