Point-And-Click Mystery Game The Darkside Detective Is Now Out, Along With Its Sequel A Fumble in the Dark

Akupara Games has been prolific lately, releasing several games in quick succession. Following their deck-building title Zoeti, they've launched The Darkside Detective, a quirky puzzle game, along with its sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark (yes, both at once!).

Exploring the Darkside Detective Universe

The game opens on a gloomy, fog-shrouded night in Twin Lakes, a town where the strange, eerie, and utterly absurd are everyday occurrences. Our heroes are Detective Francis McQueen and his endearingly clumsy partner, Officer Patrick Dooley.

Together, they form the Darkside Division, the perpetually underfunded wing of the Twin Lakes Police Department. Players solve nine bite-sized cases, delving into the hilariously bizarre world of The Darkside Detective and its equally witty sequel.

These point-and-click adventures present a diverse range of challenges. From time-travel mysteries and flesh-hungry tentacles to uncovering carnival secrets and battling mafia zombies, there's no shortage of variety. Check out the trailer below!

The game is a delightful homage to pop culture, brimming with references to classic horror films, sci-fi shows, and buddy cop movies. Case titles alone are intriguing: Malice in Wonderland, Tome Alone, Disorient Express, Police Farce, Don of the Dead, Buy Hard, and Baits Motel.

The game's masterful blend of humor is a standout feature, infused into every pixel. The Darkside Detective is available on the Google Play Store for $6.99. Interestingly, you can jump straight into A Fumble in the Dark without playing the prequel – also available on Google Play.
