Pokemon GO Unveils Unova Tour Pass

Pokemon GO has confirmed a new Tour Pass launching for all trainers starting February 24. This pass marks the latest installment in the Pokemon GO Tour series, this year highlighting the Unova region with Generation 5-inspired wild encounters, raid battles, and egg hatches.

The Pokemon GO Tour is an annual celebration tied to Pokemon Day, each edition dedicated to a particular region. The inaugural event in 2021 revisited Kanto, introducing nine previously unavailable shiny Pokemon like Mew and Ditto. Last year's Tour centered on Sinnoh, featuring Pikachu wearing unique accessories and the debut of Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia.

Ahead of the upcoming Pokemon GO Tour 2025, Niantic revealed the Tour Pass will run from February 24 at 10:00 AM until March 2 at 6:00 PM local time. All participants receive a free pass, with progression tied to earning Tour Points via daily tasks, Pokemon captures, raid completions, and egg hatching. Advancing through the pass unlocks Minor and Major milestones, granting items including candies and stickers. Trainers reaching the final tier encounter a special Zorua with a unique backdrop. Note that all rewards must be claimed before they expire on March 9 at 6:00 PM.

Pokemon GO Unveils New Pass as Unova GO Tour Approaches

Alongside the free Tour Pass, a deluxe edition priced at $14.99 will be sold through the Pokemon GO Webstore from February 24 at 10:00 AM to March 2 at 6:00 PM. This premium pass combines all free and paid track rewards, provides an encounter with the Mythical Victini, and includes the new Lucky Trinket. This one-time item designates a friend as a Lucky Friend, guaranteeing the next trade yields a Lucky Pokemon before resetting the status. An enhanced deluxe pass with 10 pre-unlocked ranks is available for $19.99. Like the standard pass, deluxe rewards and the Lucky Trinket remain claimable until March 9 at 6:00 PM.

The Unova GO Tour Pass aims to boost player engagement for the anticipated event. Highlights include the debut of Black Kyurem and White Kyurem through fusion mechanics—reminiscent of Necrozma's introduction in last year's Tour—plus the first appearance of shiny Meloetta via ticketed Masterwork Research.
