Pokémon Go Is Celebrating New Year’s 2025 with Festive Fireworks and More!

Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! Niantic is kicking off the new year with festivities, including the New Year's 2025 event, Fidough Fetch, and the upcoming Sprigatito Community Day. These are all part of the ongoing Dual Destiny season.

Adding to the excitement, the Eggs-pedition Access pass arrives January 1st, running through the entire month. For $4.99, this pass unlocks numerous benefits to enhance your Pokémon catching experience until January 31st. The Gift system also receives a significant boost, allowing you to hold up to 40 Gifts, open 50 daily, and collect 150 from Photo Discs.

What's in Store for the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?

The New Year's 2025 event in Pokémon Go runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there aren't any new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes, there's still plenty of festive fun.

Expect wild spawns of Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (in a party hat), all with Shiny possibilities. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.

Tier One raids feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu, while Tier Three raids offer party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet, both with increased Shiny rates. Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases will also feature event-themed Pokémon encounters.
