During PlayStation's 30th anniversary celebrations, Sony may have inadvertently confirmed the long-rumored PS5 Pro. We have some incredibly observant PlayStation fans to thank for this discovery.
Has Sony Secretly Announced the PS5 Pro?
A Closer Look at Their Website Reveals a Clue
In a PlayStation Blog post published earlier today, sharp-eyed fans spotted what seems to be a new PS5 model subtly placed within an image on Sony's official website. The console in the picture bears a remarkable similarity to recent leaked images of the PS5 Pro.
An attentive fan first noticed this detail in the background of the 30th Anniversary logo on Sony's site. Since this discovery, speculation has grown that Sony could be preparing to launch the PS5 Pro imminently, perhaps by the end of this month. Although Sony has not officially announced a State of Play event for the reveal, rumors suggest the highly anticipated console will be unveiled in connection with a major event later this month.

Meanwhile, Sony is going all out for PlayStation's 30th anniversary. Gamers can participate in special activities including a free trial of Gran Turismo 7, digital soundtracks from classic PlayStation titles, and creating fun memories with the new "Shapes of Play" collection. The Shapes of Play line will be released in December 2024 via direct.playstation.com in the US, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Benelux countries.
Additionally, a free online multiplayer weekend and esports tournaments are planned for September 21st and 22nd. "On those days, you can enjoy online multiplayer in games you own without a PlayStation Plus subscription, on both PS5 and PS4 consoles," Sony stated, promising more information in the days ahead.
