Rosa's Book Location in KCD2 Revealed

In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, it's easy to miss crucial side tasks like the one involving Rosa's book. To ensure you don't miss out, here's a detailed guide on how to unlock and complete the "Rosa's Book" side quest.

Unlocking the Rosa’s Book Side Quest

To initiate the "Rosa's Book" side quest, you must first complete the "Via Argentum" quest and begin "Taking French Leave." During "Taking French Leave," assist the Ruthard family in dealing with Vavak, using either force or persuasion. After resolving this, you'll be directed to speak with Rosa. She'll share details about a secret passage into Maleshov that can be used to rescue Hans. During your conversation, Rosa will request you to retrieve a specific book for her while you're in Maleshov. Make sure to ask her about the book and promise to bring it back to start the "Rosa's Book" quest.

Remember, this side quest can only be completed during "Taking French Leave." If you leave Maleshov with Hans without finding the book, the quest will fail, and you'll miss the opportunity to romance Rosa if that was your goal. Fortunately, the book is conveniently located on your path to Hans' room.

Upon entering Maleshov, head to the largest tower where Hans is located at the top. Use the stairs on the side of the building to reach the entrance. Sneak inside and locate another set of stairs near a small kitchen. Wait in the kitchen until the guards upstairs leave the tower.

Next, quietly ascend the stairs to find a room with Lady Ofka. She'll be facing the fireplace, allowing you to sneak up behind her and knock her out. Take the keys from her, the keys from the podium, and the sword from the chest in her room. In this same room, to the right of the fireplace, you'll spot Rosa's book in a window alcove. Pick it up, and your objective will update to return the book to Rosa.

While in the area, consider entering the adjacent room to grab another sword from a chest, which will save you time later when meeting Hans, as you'll need two weapons for him and his surprise guest. After securing the book and the additional sword, head to the top level and unlock the door on the left to trigger a cutscene.

Following the cutscene, continue with "Taking French Leave." Although Hans may not want to use the passageway, you can progress towards romancing him by selecting the dialogue option with a heart, provided you made the same choice in Trosky. Sneak to the stables on the north side of Maleshov, knocking out and hiding guards as necessary. Clear a path for Hans to the stables, signal him, and ensure he reaches them safely.

Open the gate to initiate another cutscene, concluding the quest. Afterward, return to Kuttenberg City and stop by Ruthard Palace to deliver Rosa's book, completing the "Rosa's Book" side quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
