EA's long-running mobile game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out, is officially being discontinued. After a twelve-year run, the game will be unavailable for download starting October 31st, 2024, with servers shutting down completely on January 24th, 2025. In-app purchases have already been disabled.

EA expressed gratitude to its players for their decade-long support, highlighting the successful partnership with The Simpsons and The Walt Disney Company. The game allowed players to create and customize their own versions of Springfield.

For those yet to experience the game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out puts you in charge of rebuilding Springfield after Homer's disastrous mishap. You'll guide the Simpsons family and other beloved characters, constructing your ideal town, expanding to Springfield Heights, and even managing the Kwik-E-Mart.
The freemium game featured regular updates tied to the show and seasonal events. While the game itself is free, "donuts" serve as the in-game currency driving progression.
