In *Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl*, players have a wide range of weapons at their disposal, each tailored to different playstyles. Among these, you'll find unique variants with special modifications or increased power, and the Cavalier is a standout example. This special sniper rifle features a red-dot sight, deviating from traditional magnification scopes, making it exceptionally effective at short to medium ranges. Let's explore how you can acquire this distinctive weapon.
How to Get the Unique Cavalier Rifle in Stalker 2
To secure the Cavalier Sniper Rifle, head to the Military Unit within the Duga base in *Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl*. The rifle is located inside a warehouse connected to a greenhouse. If you've previously accessed the Duga base for the Journalist stash, you'll find it easier to enter through the second entrance.
Getting Inside the Warehouse Near the Military Unit of Duga Base
Once you're inside the Duga base, navigate towards the Military Unit building as indicated on your map. You won't need to enter the building itself but should proceed around it to reach the greenhouse at the back. Exercise caution as two Pseudogiants patrol the area and will attack upon sighting you. Carefully approach the greenhouse to avoid a confrontation with these dangerous mutants.
Upon entering the greenhouse, you'll find yourself inside the warehouse. Be prepared for multiple swarms of rats that will immediately begin to drain your health. To escape the rats, climb onto the elevated green platforms at the back of the warehouse. Use a grenade to eliminate the rat swarm efficiently.
Break the Wooden Boards & Grab the Cavalier Rifle
After dealing with the rats, look up towards the ceiling above the entryway connecting to the greenhouse. You'll notice wooden boards painted yellow. Fire at these boards to dislodge the Cavalier sniper rifle, which will then fall down.
Retrieve the weapon and make a safe exit from the Duga base. To enhance its performance, take the Cavalier to Screw, the technician at Rostok base. With its high damage and excellent accuracy, the Cavalier can be further improved through upgrades and modifications. For players who prefer not to use traditional scopes, the Cavalier's red-dot sight makes it an ideal choice for close to medium-range engagements.
