Star Wars: Hunters has announced its shutdown before even completing one year, but it will get to celebrate its one-year anniversary before the final curtain falls. However, is it really worth celebrating the anniversary of a game that's on its last legs?
When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?
The servers are officially shutting down on October 1st, 2025. The game is calling it quits after just nine months of its launch. Players are being given a few extra weeks to wrap up Season 5, which concludes on April 15th.Zynga, the developer and publisher behind the game, is rolling out one final content update on April 15th. This update will introduce the last new Support Hunter, Tuya, available for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled.
Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers go offline, and events from the season will be rerun. If you have any unspent Crystals, it's advisable to use them up, as there won't be any refunds.
It Isn’t Shocking
It's unfortunate, but it seems like Hunters was set up for failure from the start. The game was first announced in 2020 and faced multiple delays, with beta tests occurring only in the SEA and ANZAC regions.A delayed launch, a lack of major console support, and a lukewarm reception all contributed to the Star Wars: Hunters shutdown.
In terms of design, it feels like they missed an easy win. Star Wars is brimming with iconic characters, but the game opted for generic original characters instead of the galaxy's legends.
If you uninstalled the game but want to jump back in for one last ride, it’s still available to download until the shutdown. You can find it on the Google Play Store.
