Revue Starlight Re LIVE is officially shutting down. The mobile game, based on the anime series, will cease operations on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC, ending its nearly six-year run on Android.
Why the Shutdown?
While initially a promising extension of the Revue Starlight story, Revue Starlight Re LIVE ultimately struggled. Factors contributing to its closure include repetitive events, reused assets, and expensive battle passes. Unpopular plot developments, such as the storyline shift involving "The Giraffe," further impacted player engagement. The server closure is global, affecting players worldwide.
Despite its shortcomings, the game offered positive aspects. Its soundtrack, featuring music from the anime, and high-quality 3D graphics and Live2D animations were frequently praised.
A Final Farewell?
Although the game's lifespan is nearing its end, players still have a few weeks to enjoy remaining content. Developers are implementing several farewell events in August and September, including a "Thank You For Everything" campaign offering ten free pulls daily and a two-month birthday celebration with "New Stage Girl Gacha" events at the start of each month. Download the game from the Google Play Store to experience these final events.
