Shift Up, the developer behind Stellar Blade, has hinted at a potential PC port. While the game launched as a PS5 exclusive due to its Sony partnership, recent statements suggest a PC release is under consideration.
Stellar Blade's success, including its top-selling status in the US and an 82 average OpenCritic score, has fueled interest in expanding its reach. During an IPO press conference, CEO Kim Hyung-Tae stated that a PC port is being considered, though a timeframe remains uncertain due to contractual obligations. CFO Jae-woo Ahn further emphasized the growing PC market for AAA titles and the potential value increase for the IP with a PC port.
A PC Port Seems Likely
Shift Up's previous financial report already indicated exploration of both a sequel and a PC release for Stellar Blade. The latest comments reinforce this interest. Considering Sony's recent strategy of bringing its exclusives to PC (like the upcoming God of War: Ragnarok), a Stellar Blade PC port appears increasingly probable.
While a decision on the PC port is pending, Shift Up is actively working on PS5 optimization. A recent update introduced some graphical issues, but the developer has acknowledged these and promised a fix.
