UPDATE (1/19/25) - After a brief period of being unavailable, TikTok has resumed operations in the U.S.
"In coordination with our service providers, TikTok is currently restoring its services," the company announced via a statement on X/Twitter. "We express our gratitude to President Trump for the clarity and assurance provided to our service providers, ensuring they face no repercussions for continuing to support TikTok, which serves over 170 million Americans and enables more than 7 million small businesses to flourish.
"This decision underscores a commitment to the First Amendment and opposition to arbitrary censorship. We look forward to collaborating with President Trump to develop a sustainable solution that ensures TikTok's continued presence in the United States."
