Fans of the eagerly anticipated sequel, *Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2*, will have to wait a bit longer as the game faces yet another delay, now set for release in October 2025. This latest shift was announced quietly in a recent game update video shared by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. While the delay extends the wait beyond the previously hoped-for first half of 2025, it's accompanied by the reassuring news that the core game is complete.

"The status of the game right now is that the game is done," stated Marco Behrmann, Executive Producer of *Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2*. "We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases."

Despite the disappointment of yet another delay, the update video brings some positive news. The Chinese Room has enriched the game with additional content, enhanced narrative depth, and improved character development since the last major update. Players can also look forward to an "evolved role" for the character Fabien in the storyline. However, fans should note that the frequency of updates will decrease, as mentioned in a recent post on the official *Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2* X/Twitter page.

*Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2* has been a long-awaited sequel to the 2004 cult classic, and its development journey has been fraught with challenges. Initially announced in 2019 by Hardsuit Labs with a planned release in Q1 2020, the game faced its first delay to late 2020. Further delays pushed the release to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit Labs. In a significant shift, The Chinese Room took over development from Hardsuit Labs in 2023, aiming for a 2024 release. Now, after one more delay, the game is slated for October 2025.

While uncertainty lingers about whether *Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2* will finally launch successfully this fall, The Chinese Room remains optimistic. In the event of a successful release, Paradox Interactive has hinted that a different developer might take on the development of a potential *Bloodlines 3*.
