How to Use the Voodoo Doll in Phasmophobia

The Voodoo Doll is considered one of the safer Cursed Possessions in Phasmophobia due to its favorable odds. While updates have tweaked its benefits, it remains a strong option for ghost hunters.
Its primary function is to force the ghost into performing actions that provide evidence. You achieve this by inserting each of the doll's pins, one at a time. This is particularly useful for uncooperative or silent ghosts, as it can provoke them to reveal clues like EMF Level 5 or Ultraviolet footprints.
There are 10 pins you can push into the doll to trigger these reactions, but each insertion carries a cost. Every pin you push drains 5% of your sanity. Pushing all ten pins will reduce your sanity by 50%, significantly increasing the risk of initiating a ghost hunt.
The greatest danger lies with the pin positioned over the doll's heart. The pin you push is selected randomly, and if it's the heart pin, your sanity drops by an additional 10% and triggers a Cursed Hunt immediately. During this hunt, the ghost spawns near you and hunts for an extended duration—20 seconds longer than a standard hunt.
Therefore, while using the Voodoo Doll involves notable risk, the potential to quickly gather evidence makes it a worthwhile tool for prepared investigators.
What Are Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia?

Cursed Possessions, often called "Cursed Objects," are special items in Phasmophobia that spawn randomly on any map. Their appearance can depend on the difficulty setting or if you're playing a Challenge Mode contract.
Unlike standard investigative gear, which locates ghosts and gathers evidence with minimal danger, Cursed Objects act as high-risk shortcuts to manipulate paranormal activity directly.
Some Cursed Objects are riskier than others, and it's up to you and your team to decide if using them is worth the peril. There's no penalty for leaving them alone. Typically, only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract, unless you modify this in Custom settings.
There are seven different Cursed Objects in the game:
