Summary
- World of Warcraft players can find Alyx in Dornogal to start a mystery quest for the Detective title.
- Search for 11 missing Celebration Crates with clues from Alyx's board in World of Warcraft.
- Moving Alyx ensures players can still earn the Detective title after the anniversary event.
World of Warcraft has relocated Alyx, the NPC responsible for the Guest Relation mystery questlines from the 20th anniversary celebration, to Dornogal, where they continue to accept missing Celebration Crates. Although the Guest Relations questline itself is no longer accessible, this move ensures that World of Warcraft players can still obtain the coveted Detective title—and embark on the quest for the elusive Felcycle mount—indefinitely.
The 20th anniversary event for World of Warcraft concluded, leaving behind the festivities, rewards, and buffs that fans enjoyed for nearly three months. The Caverns of Time have reverted to their usual state, with all celebration-related NPCs and decorations disappearing.
However, Alyx, the NPC central to the Guest Relations mystery questlines, remains present. Now located at the hot springs northwest of the Delver’s Headquarters building in Dornogal, near the stairs leading to the Foundation Hall, Alyx sports a new title: "Volunteer Event Coordinator, Among Other Things." Accompanying them is their board of notes, which provides clues to the locations of 11 Celebration Crates hidden around the world. Players who successfully find and return all these crates to Alyx in Dornogal can earn the Crate Insurance Agent, No Crate Left Behind, and Azeroth’s Greatest Detective achievements, and crucially, the Detective title. This title is the key to unlocking the mystery that leads players to Incognitro, the Indecipherable Felcycle mount.
Earning the Detective Title After the WoW Anniversary
- Locate Alyx, a Lightforged Draenei NPC, and their board of clues in Dornogal.
- They are situated between the Delver’s Headquarters and the stairs leading to the Foundation Hall.
- Use the clues from the notes on the board to find the 11 missing Celebration Crates in World of Warcraft.
- Players must be at least level 10 to start Celebration Crate quests, but cannot access Dornogal until reaching level 68.
- Submit six crates to earn the Crate Insurance Agent achievement, and all 11 crates to earn No Crate Left Behind, Azeroth’s Greatest Detective, and the Detective title.
Previously, it was known that the Incognitro secret quests would remain available post-anniversary, but since the Detective title is required to initiate the mystery with the Dalaran Survivor in Dornogal, many assumed the Azeroth’s Greatest Detective achievement needed to be obtained before the event's end. By moving Alyx to Dornogal and allowing indefinite crate turn-ins, Blizzard ensures that no player will be permanently excluded from obtaining this rare mount.
Unfortunately, the rest of the Guest Relations quests from WoW's 20th anniversary are no longer available, as they were heavily tied to the event grounds. Consequently, achievements such as Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager and I Saved the Party and All I Got Were These Lousy Hats, along with their associated Thinking Cap transmogs, are now unobtainable. It seems unlikely that World of Warcraft will revive this specific storyline, though alternative methods to earn these rewards might be introduced in the future.
