Squares: Conquer the Daily Word Strand Puzzle!

Squares is a daily word puzzle game challenging players to complete squares on a grid to form words. The goal? Maximize your score by finding as many words as possible!

How to Play:

Connect letters in any direction – up, down, left, right, or diagonally – to create words. Words must be at least four letters long, and each tile can only be used once per word. Hyphenated words, proper nouns, vulgar terms, and uncommon words are not included in the main word list.

Scoring and Bonuses:

Each letter in a word earns one point (a five-letter word scores five points). Beyond the main word list, discover bonus words – obscure, archaic, or slang terms – which don't contribute to your score but appear on a separate list. The hunt for these continues even after you've found all the main words! Each puzzle also includes a "Word of the Day," a longer bonus word that awards two extra hints upon solving.

Game Features:

• Daily Challenge: A fresh puzzle arrives daily at midnight.
• Grid Rotation: Rotate the grid left or right for a new perspective to uncover hidden words.
• Hints: After finding 40% of the words, you'll receive a hint displaying a number on each letter indicating how many words begin with that letter (a zero means no words start with that letter). Letters turning orange are no longer used in the main words but may appear in bonus words. Each puzzle offers 3-5 hints (lightbulb icon), revealing a random word's first letter and search direction. Sharing the game link earns an extra hint!
