Big news for fans of the Now You See Me franchise: the eagerly awaited third installment has been officially titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, and to the delight of fans, a fourth film is already in development. The exciting announcement was made by Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, during CinemaCon. Fogelson also confirmed that the release date for Now You See Me: Now You Don’t remains set for November 14, 2025.
Director Ruben Fleischer, known for his work on Zombieland, Uncharted, and Venom, has signed on with Lionsgate to not only helm the third film but also to develop and direct a fourth entry in the action-heist series. The franchise has proven to be a box office success, amassing $700 million globally to date.
The first two films featured a talented cast including Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman. Now You See Me: Now You Don’t will see the return of Eisenberg and Harrelson, alongside new additions Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt, and Rosamund Pike, introducing a fresh generation of illusionists to the saga.
Bobby Cohen, who developed and has been a producer on all films in the series, will return to produce the third installment alongside Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout. Meredith Wieck will oversee the project for Lionsgate.
Fogelson expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way. We can’t wait for audiences to discover what he’s done with the third film and thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us."
Fleischer shared his excitement, saying, "Directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t was as much fun as making any movie in my career. It combines two of my favorite things — heist movies and magic — and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course I want to keep it going."
IGN's reviews of the earlier films were mixed, with the first receiving a 6.3/10 and described as "squandering its cool cast and nifty premise on smarmy, shallow characters and a flimsy, nonsensical plot." The sequel, Now You See Me 2, scored a 6.2/10 and was criticized for being "all flash and no substance." Nonetheless, the anticipation for the next films remains high among fans eager to see what new tricks the franchise has up its sleeve.
