Assassin's Creed Shadows' "Claws of Awaji" DLC Leaks on Steam

A Steam leak has reportedly revealed details about the first DLC for Assassin's Creed Shadows, titled "Claws of Awaji." This expansion, set in feudal Japan, promises a significant amount of new content.

Assassin's Creed Shadows, the first game in the franchise set in Japan, features dual protagonists: Yasuke, a Samurai, and Naoe, a Shinobi. The game's development has been plagued by delays and controversy, most recently a postponement to March 20, 2025.

The leaked information, sourced from Insider Gaming, details "Claws of Awaji" as including a new region to explore, a new weapon type, additional skills, gear, and abilities. The DLC is estimated to add over 10 hours of gameplay. Pre-ordering the game will reportedly grant access to both the "Claws of Awaji" DLC and a bonus mission.

This leak follows another recent delay announcement. Initially slated for November 15, 2024, the release was first pushed back to February 14, 2025, and then again to March 20, 2025, to allow for further polishing.

Ubisoft, Shadows' publisher, is currently facing uncertainty amidst rumors of a potential Tencent acquisition. This follows a period of mixed success for the company, with some recent titles underperforming financially.
