Bandai Namco is taking another exciting step to bring the beloved Digimon franchise to mobile devices with the introduction of Digimon Alysion, a digital rendition of the popular Digimon Card Game. This free-to-play game is slated for release on both Android and iOS platforms, though an exact launch date has yet to be announced.
The game was officially unveiled during Digimon Con 2025, held on March 19th. During this event, Bandai Namco also shared updates on other projects, including the continuation of Digimon Liberator with a new arc set to begin in April 2025. They also released a special video to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Digimon anime and introduced a new project, Digimon Adventure: Beyond, alongside announcing a new RPG, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, destined for consoles and PC.
If You Play Digimon Card Game, Alysion Isn’t the Same
Digimon Alysion is not merely a digital clone of the physical Digimon Card Game. It introduces a novel concept called ‘DigiAly’ cards, complementing the original cards designed specifically for this mobile version. Additionally, Bandai Namco is enriching the game with new Digimon and characters.
The character lineup showcased on the game's website leans heavily towards an all-female cast, which marks a unique direction for a digital card game. This has sparked some skepticism among fans, particularly those who were anticipating a more faithful adaptation of the physical game.
This isn't Bandai Namco's first foray into the realm of Digimon mobile gaming. Previous attempts have not met with success, leading to some reservations about whether Digimon Alysion will break this trend. Despite these concerns, anticipation for the game remains high.
A closed beta test for Digimon Alysion is currently in the planning stages, though specifics have yet to be disclosed. Interested players can stay updated by visiting the game's official website or following their X account.
