After two failed launches and months of anticipation, *Rune Slayer* has finally hit the scene, and it's absolutely breathtaking. Whether you're new to the world of MMORPGs or a seasoned player, diving into *Rune Slayer* can be a thrilling yet daunting experience. Fear not, we've crafted a comprehensive guide to kickstart your adventure in this captivating game.
Rune Slayer Beginner Tips
Here are some insights we wish we had at the start of our journey to make your early days in *Rune Slayer* smoother.
Do not randomly attack other players
When we first heard about *Rune Slayer*'s full-loot PvP system, we braced ourselves for a relentless battle royale. Fortunately, that's not entirely the case. **In *Rune Slayer*, dying doesn't result in permanent loss of items**, even in PvP scenarios. You simply respawn and continue your adventure.
However, be cautious: **attacking other players will place a bounty on your head**. The more you kill, the higher your bounty, and consequently, the more items you'll lose upon death. To avoid turning the game into a high-stakes PvP environment, **refrain from attacking other players unless you have a solid reason or a group to support you**.
Craft Bags ASAP
You'll quickly notice that both your **bank space and inventory are limited**. While 50 items might seem ample, you'll find your inventory filling up rapidly. The solution? **Craft bags**. You can equip up to two bags simultaneously, starting with the **Cotton Bag**.
To craft a Cotton Bag, gather **Cotton from north of Wayshire and Flax from the south**—just be wary of mobs in the southern region. Each Cotton Bag adds 10 extra slots to your inventory, so prioritize crafting these as soon as possible.
Your pets don’t actually die
A common misunderstanding among players is that pets die permanently when their health hits zero. This isn't true. **When a pet "dies," it's unavailable for summoning for 5 minutes**. You can check the cooldown by holding T. After the cooldown, hold T again to resummon your pet.
For a quick pet heal, **store and unstore your pet at the stable master**. You have one free slot, so make use of it.
Grab all the Quests (Yes, all of them)
*Rune Slayer* is brimming with quests, many of which are not repeatable and often follow the familiar "Kill 10 X" format. Since they might not stand out, **accept every quest you encounter**. This includes grabbing everything from the Job board. Completing multiple quests simultaneously is far more efficient than tackling them one by one, and you might even complete several at once without realizing it.
Craft everything at least once (even things you don’t need)
While you should prioritize crafting what you need, **use any spare materials to craft items you might not immediately need**. Doing so can unlock new, more powerful crafting options. For instance, smelting your first Iron Ore opened up a range of Iron Armor crafts for us. So, don't hoard your materials—craft and discover new possibilities.
Join a Guild
Though *Rune Slayer* is friendly to solo players, you'll encounter tougher enemies as you progress. Many of these are designed for group combat, and **joining a guild is the easiest way to find a team**. Use the general chat to find a guild or check the official *Rune Slayer* Discord server to connect with other players.
And that wraps up our beginner's guide to *Rune Slayer*. Dive in, enjoy the adventure, and if you're yet to start, don't forget to explore the *Rune Slayer* Trello and Discord for more tips and community engagement.
