Beloved Sims Character Debuts in The Sims 4

Careful, Sim fans—Robin Banks is back and ready to strike.

The infamous Burglar, a nostalgic throwback for players of earlier Sims titles, has returned in the latest update for The Sims 4. Now live across PC and console platforms, this update reintroduces Robin Banks, the sly thief known for sneaking into homes under the cover of darkness. While she typically strikes when all Sims are asleep, don’t be fooled—she’s been known to attempt bold daytime heists if the opportunity arises. Keep your valuables secured and stay alert.

To protect your Sims’ belongings, consider installing a burglar alarm. If Robin triggers it, law enforcement will arrive promptly, arresting her and recovering your stolen items. Even without an alarm, you can still call the police manually—but speed is crucial. Or, if you prefer a more hands-on approach, take matters into your own Sims’ hands with some vigilante justice. The choice is yours.

Burglary events are intentionally rare by design, but if you’re craving more mayhem, simply activate the Lot Challenge: Heist Havoc to increase the chances of a break-in.

“We are so thrilled to finally bring the Burglar back into The Sims universe,” the development team shared. “Sending a special shout out to our full team for making this a reality. Robin Banks isn’t just ready to rob your Sims’ houses—she’s here to steal your hearts too! What better way to celebrate The Sims’ 25th birthday than with this nostalgic yet fresh addition? We hope you’re as excited as we are to see what kind of chaos Robin Banks will bring to your households.”

While The Sims 4 turns 10 this year—and the franchise celebrates its 25th anniversary—its popularity continues to soar. Last year alone, the game attracted over 15 million new players.

According to EA’s Q2 earnings report, The Sims 4 took four years to reach 20 million unique players while it was a premium title. But after going free-to-play in 2022, it gained 31 million new players almost immediately and hit a total of 85 million by May 2024. And despite the excitement, there are still no official plans for The Sims 5 on the horizon… Plum!
