In a recent post on Twitter/X, the official Bethesda account revealed plans for a major announcement scheduled for tomorrow at 8:00 AM PT / 11:00 AM ET, streaming live across both YouTube and Twitch. Although the studio didn’t explicitly disclose the content of the reveal, the image accompanying the post makes things pretty clear—featuring a bold “IV” in the center and a background that closely resembles iconic artwork from Oblivion. The clues are hard to ignore.
For years, rumors of an Oblivion remake have circulated online, occasionally spiking with new hints and leaks. The earliest credible suggestion came in 2023 during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial, when a leaked Bethesda internal schedule from 2020 listed a potential Oblivion remaster slated for fiscal year 2022. However, due to the age of the document and the absence of any follow-up, many assumed the project had been quietly canceled.
That changed earlier this year when fresh leaks emerged in January, suggesting that what was once a simple remaster had evolved into a full-scale remake. According to those reports, the game was being developed by Bethesda in collaboration with Virtuos, a studio known for its work on enhanced ports and remastered titles.
Just last week, more evidence surfaced—this time pulled directly from Virtuos’ own website—revealing not only the existence of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, but also screenshots showing gameplay footage from the updated version. If these details hold true, the remake will launch across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, and will be available in both standard and Deluxe Editions, the latter including the classic Horse Armor DLC.
Make sure to tune in tomorrow morning for what could be one of the most exciting announcements for Elder Scrolls fans in years. Hopefully, we’ll get confirmation of the title, release platforms, and perhaps even a first look at the game in action.
