Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025! Another trip around the sun successfully completed—congratulations! A new year is the perfect time to look ahead, so here are some of the biggest game releases of 2025 we know about:

January 2025

Dynasty Warriors: Origins

If you prefer long-range tactical combat, Sniper Elite: Resistance arrives on January 30th. This latest installment continues the series’ tradition of… well, let's just say it's a gratuitous Nazi-castration simulator. Expect more satisfying shots to the nether regions of fascists. Available on all Xboxes and PlayStations, plus PC.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

February 11th sees the release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, continuing Henry of Skalitz's adventures in 14th-century Bohemia. Expect a deep, historically-grounded RPG experience in a massive open world. Available on current-gen consoles and PC.

Also on February 11th, Sid Meier's Civilization VII arrives. Need we say more? Guide a civilization through history, exploring, expanding, exploiting… you know the drill. Available on virtually every platform except mobile (for now).

On February 14th, Assassin's Creed Shadows transports the franchise to feudal Japan, allowing players to experience both ninja and samurai gameplay through dual protagonists. Available on current-gen consoles and PC.

Feeling lonely on Valentine's Day? Date Everything! (February 14th) is a sandbox dating simulator where you can potentially date… well, everything. Over 100 fully voiced inanimate objects await. Available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, Switch, and PC.

Monster Hunter Wilds

Obsidian's Avowed (February 18th) hits Xbox Series consoles and PC, offering a first-person perspective and real-time combat within the Pillars of Eternity universe. Expect a more focused experience compared to some open-world behemoths.

For high-seas adventures, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii (February 21st) sees Goro Majima embark on a pirate career after amnesia strikes. Available on Xboxes, PlayStations, and PC.

Finally, February 28th brings Monster Hunter Wilds to Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. Capcom aims to refine the core experience while adding new features to appeal to both veterans and newcomers.
