Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl Actress Michelle Trachtenberg Dies Aged 39

Actress Michelle Trachtenberg, known for her roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl, has passed away at age 39, according to reports.

Law enforcement sources indicate no suspicion of foul play surrounds Trachtenberg's death. ABC News reported that her mother discovered her deceased in her New York City apartment near Columbus Circle on Wednesday. The report suggests that Trachtenberg recently underwent a liver transplant and potential complications may have contributed to her passing.

ABC News further stated that the death is believed to be from natural causes, with an autopsy pending to officially determine the cause and manner of death.

Trachtenberg's career began at age nine with a role in the 1990s Nickelodeon series The Adventures of Pete and Pete. Her film debut followed in 1996's Harriet the Spy. She achieved significant recognition for portraying Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (2000-2003), and later starred in films such as EuroTrip (2004) and Ice Princess (2005).

Her memorable role as Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl (2007-2012) solidified her status as a prominent teen drama actress. She reprised the role in the HBO Max sequel series.
