Cookie Run Saga Halts V5.6 Due to Issues

Cookie Run: Kingdom's Version 5.6 update, "Dark Resolution's Glorious Return," is a mixed bag of new content. While it introduces exciting additions, a controversial new rarity has sparked significant backlash.

The update includes a wealth of new features:

  • Dragon Lord Dark Cacao Cookie: A powerful Ancient+ Cookie with a charge-type attack and a devastating Awakened King skill. A special Nether-Gacha increases the odds of obtaining him.

  • Peach Blossom Cookie: A new Epic Support Cookie offering healing and beneficial buffs.

  • New World Exploration Episode: Dark Cacao Cookie's story continues in "Dark Resolution's Glorious Return," featuring Yin and Yang battle stages.

However, the introduction of the Ancient+ rarity, the eleventh rarity in the game, has proven highly unpopular. This new rarity allows for 6-star max promotion, creating a significant power creep and frustrating players who feel it undervalues existing characters. The Korean community and whale guilds even threatened a boycott.

In response to this negative feedback, the developers have postponed the June 20th release date to re-evaluate the Ancient+ rarity system. The future of this feature remains uncertain.
