"We're thrilled to share this with our fans," BioWare announced on Twitter (X). The team also shared a roadmap of upcoming reveals to keep the excitement building: "In the coming weeks, we'll showcase high-level warrior combat, a Companions Week spotlight, and more," they revealed.

A Long Road to Thedas

The development of Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been a lengthy process, facing numerous delays spanning almost a decade. Development began in 2015, after Dragon Age: Inquisition. However, BioWare's focus shifted to Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem, impacting The Veilguard's (then codenamed "Joplin") progress. Furthermore, the initial design didn't align with the company's live-service strategy, leading to a complete development halt.

The project was revived in 2018 under the codename "Morrison." After further development, it was officially announced as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2022 before settling on its current title.

Despite the challenges, the journey is nearly complete. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is launching on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S this fall. Get ready, because your journey to Thedas is about to begin!
