The creators of the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, inspired by the popular Dark and Darker, have announced the cessation of support for the game and the impending closure of its servers. Launched with high hopes, the project unfortunately lasted less than a year, unable to maintain its player base due to dwindling activity and a lack of substantial updates.
While Dungeonborne's page remains accessible on Steam, it has been removed from the platform's search results and can only be accessed via a direct link. Although the official reasons for the shutdown remain undisclosed, it's evident that the game's extremely low player count was a significant factor. Since late 2024, the game struggled to attract more than 200 concurrent players, and in recent days, the number of active players plummeted to a mere 10-15.
The servers for Dungeonborne are scheduled for permanent closure on May 28, marking the end of the project's brief journey. What began with enthusiasm among fans of the genre will now fade into obscurity, leaving behind unfulfilled potential.
