EA Launches Playtest for The Sims Spinoff, City Life Game with Friends

If you’re a fan of city-building games and eager to explore something fresh from Electronic Arts (EA), here’s your chance. EA is currently hosting a playtest for their upcoming game, City Life Game with Friends, which is part of their innovative The Sims Project Rene. This experimental phase focuses on gathering valuable feedback to refine gameplay mechanics and player interactions.

Where Can You Join the Playtest?

This playtest is exclusively available for Android users, but there are some prerequisites. Your device must run Android 12 or higher and have at least 4GB of RAM. Unfortunately, it’s not open to everyone, so keep that in mind.

The game will remain accessible until April 4th, 2025, with varying end times based on your location:

  • 7 PM UTC
  • 6 AM AEST in Australia
  • 3 AM PHT in the Philippines

After this time, the game will shut down, and you’ll need to uninstall it.

Please note that this is not the full version of the game—it’s more of a sneak peek into EA’s vision for the future of City Life Game with Friends. Think of it as a sandbox for EA to experiment with concepts and gather insights.

What Can You Expect?

Once inside, you’ll be able to craft your character with a style that reflects your personality. The vibrant neighborhood offers plenty of activities to dive into:

  • Visit the Thrift Shop for trendy outfits.
  • Relax at the Café or participate in community events.
  • Collaborate with friends to organize block parties, wish upon the plaza fountain, or search for hidden collectibles.

The game emphasizes social engagement and community building. Whether it’s discussing art, music, or simply fostering meaningful conversations, the focus is on creating connections through shared interests.

If this sounds intriguing, head over to the Google Play Store to join the playtest (provided you’re in one of the eligible regions). Otherwise, stay tuned for our next article on Bandai Namco’s decision to retire PAC-MAN Mobile on its 45th anniversary.
