Elden Ring Nightreign Scalpers and Scammers Already on the Loose

FromSoftware describes the network test as a "preliminary verification test" where selected testers will explore a portion of the game before its full launch. This test aims to verify the online systems and conduct large-scale network load tests to ensure the servers can handle multiple players simultaneously. The Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test is scheduled to run from February 14 to February 16, 2025, with five 3-hour sessions:

  • Session 1 - February 14th from 3 AM to 6 AM PT
  • Session 2 - February 14th from 7 PM to 10 PM PT
  • Session 3 - February 15th from 11 AM to 2 PM PT
  • Session 4 - February 16th from 3 AM to 6 AM PT
  • Session 5 - February 16th from 7 PM to 10 PM PT

Beware of Scammers and Scalpers

Unfortunately, alongside the excitement, there are reports of scams related to the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test. Scammers are reportedly sending out fake invites on Steam, which lead to suspicious websites. Clicking on these links can result in account hacking and mass messaging to friends with the same fraudulent invite. FromSoftware has emphasized that all official communications regarding the playtest are conducted through their website and official social media accounts, so any links outside these channels should be treated with caution.

Additionally, scalpers have already begun listing "confirmed test codes" for sale on various online platforms, despite the codes not being available until February 11, 2025. These listings are priced exorbitantly, ranging from $150 to $200, with some even being auctioned off.

Elden Ring Nightreign was first announced at The Game Awards 2024 and is set to release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. While a 2025 release window has been confirmed, the exact date remains undisclosed.
