Exclusive: Nintendo Switch Games Unveiled!

Author: Zachary Feb 22,2025

Hello discerning readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for August 28th, 2024. Yesterday's presentation was packed with exciting announcements, wasn't it? A flurry of surprise releases, too! This usually quiet Wednesday is anything but, and that's a welcome change. We've got news, a review of today's eShop additions, and our regular sales lists. Let's dive in!

News

The Partner/Indie World Showcase Delivered

Combining two smaller showcases was a smart move, resulting in a wave of announcements. Highlights include several surprise releases (detailed below), Capcom Fighting Collection 2, the Suikoden I & II remasters, Yakuza Kiwami, Tetris Forever, MySims, Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition, new Atelier and Rune Factory titles, and much more. I recommend watching the video; it's worth your time. Plenty of excellent games for diverse tastes.

Select New Releases

Castlevania Dominus Collection ($24.99)

A third Castlevania compilation, unexpectedly released alongside the Direct. This collection features the three Nintendo DS titles: Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia. It also includes the notoriously poor arcade game, Haunted Castle, and a significantly improved M2 remake. The emulation is superb, offering a fantastic value.

Pizza Tower ($19.99)

A frenetic platformer reminiscent of Wario Land, also a surprise release. Conquer the five massive floors of the Pizza Tower to save your restaurant. Fans of Wario's handheld adventures will appreciate this, but even those without a strong Wario connection should find it appealing. A review is pending.

Goat Simulator 3 ($29.99)

Another surprise Wednesday release. It's Goat Simulator 3. The formula is familiar. Performance on the Switch is uncertain, as even more powerful systems have experienced issues. Proceed with caution, although poor performance might ironically enhance the chaotic gameplay. Silly goats, silly antics, and an open world – your Switch might not appreciate it!

Peglin ($19.99)

Electronic Arts missed a significant opportunity by not bringing PopCap games to the Switch. Peglin scratches that Peggle itch. Already available on mobile, it's equally enjoyable on the Switch. It's a delightful blend of Peggle and turn-based roguelite RPG elements. A review will follow shortly.

Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story ($20.00)

Kairosoft's simulation formula gets a Doraemon makeover. This shop sim features characters from the popular manga and anime, with a respectful implementation of the license. Even characters from the manga artist's other works make cameo appearances.

Pico Park 2 ($8.99)

More Pico Park for existing fans. Up to eight players can enjoy local or online multiplayer. A series of puzzle stages that demand cooperation. Great for those who enjoyed the first game, but unlikely to attract newcomers.

Kamitsubaki City Ensemble ($3.99)

An affordable rhythm game showcasing Kamitsubaki Studio's music. Simple, yet enjoyable for the price.

SokoPenguin ($4.99)

A Sokoban-style puzzle game featuring a penguin. One hundred levels.

Q2 Humanity ($6.80)

Quirky physics-based puzzles, over three hundred in total. Utilize character abilities and drawing mechanics. Supports up to four players locally or online.
