For fans of realistic driving simulators, January 16th, 2025, marks a significant date. Kunos Simulazioni Studios is launching Assetto Corsa Competizione EVO into Steam Early Access.
At launch, players will experience the thrill of driving 20 meticulously detailed cars across 5 iconic tracks: Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. Despite being in Early Access, the developers promise already impressive physics, handling, and realistic car behavior.
A standout feature is the free-roam mode, offering unparalleled freedom to explore the virtual world. A major update planned for Summer 2025 will introduce roads surrounding the legendary Nürburgring. This fully laser-scanned open world will eventually encompass a staggering 1600 square kilometers, expanding gradually over time.
Assetto Corsa Competizione EVO aims to challenge established giants like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport, boasting photorealistic graphics and advanced physics.
The initial release will feature 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with more content promised in future free updates. Each circuit will accurately reflect real-world conditions, including tire wear, wet pavement, and animated spectators for an immersive experience.
The developers have also refined the cars' dynamics, focusing on suspension damping and shock absorption. The Driving Academy mode, included in Early Access, will test players' skills on the available tracks, with time trials and challenges designed to earn a license unlocking access to the most prestigious vehicles. This mode will be a key single-player component of the Early Access experience.
