Marvel Rivals Sets February Release Date for The Thing and Human Torch

Marvel Rivals' Fantastic Four Completes its Roster with The Thing and Human Torch on February 21, 2025

The highly anticipated playable characters, The Thing and Human Torch, will join the fray in NetEase Games and Marvel's hero shooter, Marvel Rivals, on February 21st, 2025. This launch coincides with a Season 1.5 update, promising significant balance adjustments as detailed in a recent developer blog post.

While specific gameplay details for Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm remain under wraps, their arrival is sure to reshape the game's competitive landscape, following the successful introduction of Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman earlier in Season 1. These earlier additions introduced unique mechanics, altering the game's meta significantly.

The Season 1.5 update also includes a rank reset for Ranked players. Expect a four-division demotion across the board. NetEase has clarified that future full seasons will feature a six-division reset, while mid-season updates will maintain the four-division drop. The system is subject to adjustments based on player feedback.

However, the update isn't all negative. Gold-ranked players will receive new costume rewards, and new Crests of Honor will recognize the top performers (Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All – the top 500).

Creative director Guangyun Chen's previous promise of a new playable character every six weeks continues to hold true. While speculation points towards Blade as the next addition, official confirmation remains elusive.
