David Hayter, the iconic voice of Solid Snake and Big Boss, wished fans a "Happy Snake Year" on Bluesky, highlighting the auspicious timing of the Year of the Snake coinciding with the anticipated release of a new Metal Gear Solid title. Hayter is confirmed to reprise his role as Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

Konami themselves acknowledged this synchronicity with a New Year's greeting video featuring taiko drummers and calligraphy artistry depicting the kanji for "snake," culminating in a bold "SNAKE YEAR" declaration. This cleverly links the zodiacal Snake with the return of Solid Snake.

Since its May 2024 announcement, followed by a Tokyo Game Show trailer and demo, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has been relatively quiet. However, producer Noriaki Okamura recently told 4Gamer that delivering a high-quality, polished game in 2025 is a primary goal and significant challenge.
