Nintendo Delays Japanese Alarmo Release Despite Global Availability

Nintendo has announced a delay in the general retail release of its Alarmo alarm clock in Japan due to insufficient stock. The launch, initially planned for February 2025, is now postponed indefinitely.

Supply Can't Meet Demand

The unexpected high demand for the Alarmo has outpaced production and inventory levels, prompting the delay. While the global launch is still scheduled for March 2025, the impact on international stock remains unclear.

For Japanese consumers, Nintendo is implementing a pre-order system exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Pre-orders are expected to open in mid-December, with shipments commencing in early February 2025. A precise pre-order start date will be announced shortly.

The Popular Nintendo Alarm Clock

Launched globally in October 2024, the Alarmo features iconic soundtracks from popular Nintendo franchises, including Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure, with more to be added via updates. Its initial success led to a rapid sell-out in Nintendo stores worldwide, including Japan and New York, and the temporary suspension of online orders, which were later transitioned to a lottery system.
