Nintendo's Alarmo Alarm Clock: Wider Release and Enhanced Features
Nintendo's innovative alarm clock, Alarmo, is expanding its retail availability in March 2025! Initially released to a limited audience, this interactive device is now poised for a broader launch.
Beyond the Nintendo Online Requirement
The upcoming release marks a significant change: the Nintendo Online membership requirement will be removed. This means everyone can experience Alarmo's unique features, regardless of their subscription status. Expect to find Alarmo on shelves at major retailers such as Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other authorized retailers worldwide. The suggested retail price is $99.99 USD.
Initial Success and High Demand
Alarmo's popularity quickly became apparent. Following its October 9th, 2024 announcement, the device sold out rapidly. In Japan, sales were temporarily suspended on the My Nintendo Store, shifting to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers due to overwhelming demand. Similar sell-outs occurred in other locations, such as New York City.
Engaging Features and Functionality
Alarmo offers a fun and interactive wake-up experience. Featuring sound effects and visuals from popular Nintendo franchises like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3, users can select from 42 scenes (with more to come via free updates). The alarm features a gentle start, escalating to a more insistent wake-up call if you linger too long in bed. A motion sensor allows for silencing the alarm without touching the device.
Beyond the alarm, Alarmo provides additional features such as hourly chimes, sleep sounds, and sleep pattern tracking. A "Button Mode" is recommended for households with pets or multiple sleepers.
With its expanded release in March 2025, Alarmo is poised to become a must-have gadget for Nintendo fans and anyone seeking a more engaging and interactive wake-up experience.
