Director Ji-Won Choi recently treated Lies of P fans to a heartfelt message, part celebratory anniversary note, part tantalizing preview of upcoming content. The steampunk Pinocchio-inspired Soulslike game, released a year ago, continues to captivate players with its dark, compelling world.

Celebrating Lies of P's First Anniversary: DLC and Sequel on the Horizon

NEOWIZ, the developer, shared Choi's message, expressing gratitude for the community's support and revealing details about the upcoming DLC. The team, Choi explains, worked diligently through Korea's scorching summer to bring this expansion to life, driven by the passion of its fans. The DLC promises to build upon the original game's strengths while addressing previously identified issues.

"Our goal for the Lies of P DLC and the sequel is to refine what worked well and improve areas needing further development," Choi wrote. "It sounds simple, but mastering the fundamentals is far from easy." He also extended his appreciation to Team NOUGH and ROUND8 Studio.

A Sneak Peek at the DLC: Concept Art and Music

The most exciting revelation? A piece of concept art depicting P in a snowy, desolate location, gazing towards a mysterious lighthouse. This image, along with a new musical track ("Lisrim," composed by onoken in 2022, and owned by NEOWIZ), hints at the thrilling new story awaiting players. The music video itself mirrors the game's aesthetic, showcasing a character with a clockwork weapon rescuing a captive girl.

DLC Release Date and Future Plans

While a specific release date remains unannounced, NEOWIZ's Q1 2024 Earnings Results indicate a launch sometime in the second half of 2024. The DLC will join four other NEOWIZ titles:

Further fueling anticipation, Choi previously released an eight-minute video showcasing early concept art, including a towering industrial setting and a perilous shipwreck.
