A Slithery Surprise: Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Snakelike Mass Outbreak!
Trainers, get ready! A special Mass Outbreak event in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is underway, celebrating the Year of the Snake with boosted Shiny encounter rates for Silicobra, Ekans, and Seviper. This limited-time event runs until January 12th, offering a fantastic opportunity to add these serpentine Pokemon to your collection, potentially in their shimmering Shiny forms.
This exciting event follows closely on the heels of the Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid event that concluded 2024. While Rayquaza is obtainable via the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, the boosted Shiny rate during the raid made it a highly sought-after encounter. The Rayquaza event served as a fitting end to the Year of the Dragon, and now the Year of the Snake brings a new challenge.
The Snakelike Mass Outbreak, starting January 9th, features increased spawn rates for Silicobra (across all land areas), Ekans (Kitakami region), and Seviper (Terarium). These Pokemon will appear at levels ranging from 10 to 65, depending on your game progress. To participate, ensure your game is connected to the internet, access the Poke Portal via the in-game menu, and select "Get Poke Portal News."

Shiny hunting enthusiasts can further boost their chances with Shiny Sandwiches. For Ekans and Seviper, combine a Salty or Spicy Herba Mystica with a Green Bell Pepper; for Silicobra, substitute the pepper with Ham.
With the anticipated launch of Pokemon Legends: Z-A in 2025, the future of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet remains intriguing. The Pokemon Company's plans for the Year of the Snake are yet to be fully revealed, but this Mass Outbreak is a thrilling start!
