Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Siege X: A Major Update, Not a New Game
Ubisoft recently unveiled Rainbow Six Siege X, not as a new game, but as a significant upgrade to the existing Rainbow Six Siege experience, ahead of its 10th anniversary. This major overhaul promises substantial gameplay improvements and refinements.
March 2025 Showcase:
A dedicated showcase is planned for March 13th, 2025, at 10:00 am PDT / 1:00 pm EDT in Atlanta, Georgia. This event will offer an immersive look at the changes coming with Siege X, including "new ways to play, deepened tactical gameplay, refined game feel, and major upgrades." Limited in-person tickets ($10 USD, including a shirt and in-game cosmetic pack) are available to legal residents of the USA and Canada, aged 18+, with a clean Rainbow Six Siege account. A VIP package giveaway, including travel and accommodation, is also underway.
10th Anniversary & Season 1: Operation Prep Phase:
Rainbow Six Siege, initially launched December 1st, 2015, celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2025. Season 1, "Operation Prep Phase," launching March 4th, 2025, introduces a new operator, Aurora (with deployable bulletproof doors), a new elite skin for Aruni, and a revamped reputation system.
The timing suggests that the core Siege X upgrades will be implemented to live servers following the March showcase.
This substantial update aims to extend the lifespan of the popular live-service shooter, offering players a refreshed and enhanced Rainbow Six Siege experience.
