Best Redwing Decks in Marvel Snap

Marvel Snap's roster of animal companions is surprisingly small—Cosmo, Groose, Zabu, Hit Monkey, and that's pretty much it. But that changes with the Brave New World season, introducing Falcon's loyal avian ally, Redwing, to the feathered (or furry) fray.

How Redwing Works in Marvel Snap

Redwing is a 3-cost, 4-power card with a unique ability: The first time this moves, add a card from your hand to its old location.

However, there are important caveats. Redwing's ability is a one-time use only. Attempts to reactivate it using cards like Symbiote Spider-Man or by returning it to your hand won't work, significantly limiting its strategic potential.

Precisely targeting a card with Redwing proves challenging. Move decks often utilize low-cost cards like Iron Fist, which you'd likely want to avoid. Conversely, Scream decks typically manipulate opponent's cards rather than your own.

Despite these limitations, budget-friendly move cards like Madame Web or Cloak (accessible to lower Collection Level players) can effectively deploy Redwing. The potential for clever plays exists—imagine snatching a win by strategically placing a Galactus early or pulling a powerful card like The Infinaut.

Best Day One Redwing Decks in Marvel Snap

Ares and Surtur dominated the previous Marvel Snap season, and they return in a revamped Scream-based build incorporating Aero and Heimdall for disruption. Redwing surprisingly finds a niche here, though you'll almost always prioritize playing Surtur on turn 3. Here's the decklist:

Hydra Bob, Scream, Kraven, Captain America, Redwing, Polaris, Surtur, Ares, Cull Obsidian, Aero, Heimdall, Magneto [Click here to copy this list from Untapped.]

This deck is expensive, featuring several Series 5 cards: Hydra Bob, Scream, Redwing, Surtur, Ares, and Cull Obsidian. Hydra Bob can be substituted with a 1-cost card like Rocket Raccoon or Iceman, but the others are essential.

The strategy centers on playing Surtur on turn 3, followed by high-power cards to boost its power. Scream provides an alternative win condition by stealing power. Polaris, Aero, and Magneto offer card manipulation, while Redwing can be moved into Heimdall to buff Surtur and draw a high-power card.

Another potential home for Redwing is a Madame Web deck, though Dagger's nerf has diminished the viability of move-focused decks. Madame Web's Ongoing ability complements Ongoing-style decks, offering Redwing a possible place:

Ant-Man, Madame Web, Psylocke, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Luke Cage, Captain America, Redwing, Doom 2099, Iron Lad, Blue Marvel, Doctor Doom, Spectrum [Click here to copy this list from Untapped.]

This deck includes two Series 5 cards: Madame Web and Doom 2099. Madame Web isn't strictly necessary, but removing her necessitates removing Redwing for another Ongoing card like Mobius M. Mobius.

This is primarily a Doom 2099 Ongoing deck. The goal is to quickly deploy Doom 2099 to spread power. Madame Web aids in positioning Doom 2099 bots and manipulating Sam Wilson's shield. Redwing provides another way to activate Madame Web's effect. On turn 6, Doctor Doom or Spectrum are played for a final power surge.

Is Redwing Worth Spotlight Cache Keys or Collector's Tokens?

Currently, no. Redwing feels underpowered and fits into a weak archetype. Saving resources for future cards is advisable unless Second Dinner significantly buffs this new avian addition.
