Smite 2 Free-to-Play Launch Date Announced Alongside New Character

Smite 2's Open Beta Launch: January 14, 2025

Get ready! Smite 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular MOBA, launches its free-to-play open beta on January 14, 2025. This marks a significant milestone for the Unreal Engine 5-powered game, which entered Alpha in 2024.

This open beta will feature a wealth of new content, including:

• New God: Aladdin: The first God from the Tales of Arabia pantheon, Aladdin joins the roster as a Magical Assassin and Jungler with unique wall-running and trapping abilities.
• Returning Favorites: Popular Gods from the original Smite, such as Mulan, Geb, Ullr, and Agni, are making a comeback with updated skill sets.
• Expanded Roster: The initial 14 Gods from the Alpha will expand to nearly 50 by the end of January 2025. Twenty of these will feature "Aspects," a new gameplay mechanic allowing players to trade a God's ability for a powerful alternative. For example, Athena loses her ally-shielding teleport but gains a foe-weakening one.
• New Game Modes: Experience Joust (3v3) and Duel (1v1), both set in an Arthurian-themed arena with teleporters and stealth grass.
• Quality-of-Life Improvements: Expect enhanced features such as Role Guides, improved in-game messaging, PC text chat, item store upgrades, and detailed death recaps.

Beyond the in-game additions, Smite 2's first esports tournament finale will be held at the HyperX Arena in Las Vegas from January 17-19.
