While Sony had a presence at TGS 2023, it was limited to the indie game demo area. This year, they rejoin major players like Capcom and Konami in the main exhibition.

While Sony's specific plans for the exhibition remain undisclosed, their May 2024 State of Play presentation revealed several 2024 game releases. Furthermore, their recent financial report indicated no plans for major new franchise releases before April 2025. Therefore, the focus of their TGS 2024 presence is likely to be on showcasing existing titles and potentially offering glimpses into future projects.

The Tokyo Game Show, one of Asia's largest video game exhibitions, will be held at Makuhari Messe from September 26th to 29th. This year's event is poised to be the largest yet, boasting 731 exhibitors (283 international and 448 Japanese) and 3190 exhibition booths (as of July 4th).
