Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, the upcoming Disney+ animated series focusing on Peter Parker's early days in high school, has already secured renewals for Season 2 and Season 3—before the first season even premieres.
In a recent interview with The Movie Podcast, Brad Winderbaum, head of streaming, television, and animation at Marvel Studios, shared exciting updates about the show’s future. Despite Season 1 set to debut tomorrow, January 29, the team has already completed scripts for Season 2 and is halfway through animating its storyboards. Season 3 has also been officially greenlit.
"I've fallen completely in love with these characters," Winderbaum said. "I’ve read all of Season 2’s scripts and we’re halfway through the animatics. What Jeff Trammell, our lead writer and executive producer, is building piece by piece in this show starts to come together beautifully."
He continued, "You begin to connect with the characters in Season 1, and by the end of the season, everything starts to click and deliver on that emotional payoff. It resonates deeply—and it only gets richer in the seasons to follow."

Winderbaum added that he plans to meet with Trammell "in a couple of weeks" to hear his vision for Season 3, though he didn’t reveal any potential release dates for either Season 2 or Season 3.
The series follows Peter Parker during his freshman year of high school as he navigates the challenges of adolescence and discovers his superhuman abilities. While it remains to be seen whether Season 2 will follow his sophomore year and Season 3 his junior year, one thing is clear: fans can look forward to more heartfelt storytelling and exciting adventures from this fresh take on Spider-Man.
