Finnish game developer Supercell has made a surprising announcement: after shutting down their RPG, Clash Heroes, they're reviving the concept as Project R.I.S.E. This isn't a simple relaunch, however.
The Full Story:
Clash Heroes is officially cancelled. Following in the footsteps of Clash Mini, it's been put on hold. But Supercell isn't abandoning the idea entirely. Project R.I.S.E., a social action RPG roguelite, will inherit the Clash universe's spirit.
In a recent announcement video, game lead Julien Le Cadre confirmed Clash Heroes' demise but highlighted Project R.I.S.E.'s multiplayer action RPG focus within the Clash universe.
For more details, watch the announcement video:
Project R.I.S.E. shares similarities with Clash Heroes but is a completely new game. It's a social action RPG roguelite where you team up with two other players to ascend The Tower, facing new challenges on each floor. Unlike its predecessor, the emphasis is on cooperative gameplay with a diverse cast of characters.
Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. will have its first playtest in early July 2024. Registration for a chance to participate is open on the official website.
