The Switch 2 Nintendo Direct Now Has a Time as Well as a Date

The Nintendo Switch 2 Nintendo Direct is scheduled for 6 AM PT on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025 (9 AM ET, 2 PM UK time). This Direct promises a closer look at the Switch 2, following its initial unveiling last month.

The initial reveal showcased the Switch 2's design, hinted at Mario Kart 9, and teased a potential "mouse" mode for the new Joy-Cons. However, many questions remain unanswered, including the function of a mysterious new Joy-Con button, the console's processing power, and the intended use of its new ports.

This Nintendo Direct is expected to reveal the full Switch 2 launch lineup, a release date (predicted between June and September 2025), and hopefully, the console's price (analysts predict $400).

Speculation about the Switch 2's game library is growing. A significant number of third-party titles are rumored to be in development. Firaxis, the developer of Civilization 7, expressed interest in the Switch 2's Joy-Con mouse mode. Nacon, a prominent publisher, confirmed it has Switch 2 games ready for release. Hollow Knight: Silksong is also rumored for the platform, and EA recently suggested Madden, FIFA, and The Sims would be suitable for the system.
