As the release of the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 draws near, speculation surrounding its price, tariffs, and overall market impact continues to heat up. Amidst this buzz, one prominent third-party publisher has expressed strong confidence in the new console. During a recent investor Q&A session, Take-Two Interactive’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, shared his optimism regarding Nintendo’s latest platform, highlighting improvements in Nintendo’s approach to supporting external developers compared to previous iterations.

According to Zelnick, Take-Two is set to release four major titles on the Nintendo Switch 2, marking a significant increase in their support for a new Nintendo platform compared to the past. He noted that historically, partnering with Nintendo as a third-party developer posed certain challenges, but the company has made strides to address these issues. Zelnick emphasized Take-Two’s strategic approach to platform selection, ensuring their titles reach audiences wherever they are while balancing catalog opportunities.

The announced lineup includes notable franchises such as Civilization 7, which will launch on June 5 alongside the console, the ongoing NBA 2K and WWE 2K series (with specific games and dates yet to be confirmed), and Borderlands 4, scheduled for September 12. While these titles were already available on the original Nintendo Switch, Zelnick’s comments suggest potential for additional releases from Take-Two’s extensive portfolio in the future. Although high-profile exclusives like GTA 6 seem unlikely, classics such as GTA V could potentially find their way to the new hardware.

Prior to the investor call, Zelnick discussed Take-Two’s quarterly performance, touching on the delayed release of GTA 6 to next year and his perspective on the decision. As anticipation builds for the Nintendo Switch 2, gamers and industry watchers alike are keenly awaiting further details on both the console itself and the expanded offerings from major publishers like Take-Two.
