The Pokémon Trading Card Game (PTCGO) Space Time Smackdown expansion, released January 30th, features a Weavile ex card depicting a scene that has sparked outrage among players. Specifically, the 2-Star full art card shows a group of Weavile poised to attack an unsuspecting Swinub.

This brutal depiction has ignited a flurry of comments on Reddit, with many expressing concern for the Swinub's fate. One post, garnering nearly 10,000 upvotes, simply exclaims, "NO ! SWINUB LOOK UP !! LOOK UP !!". Players have voiced their disapproval, highlighting the graphic nature of the scene and questioning the game's portrayal of Pokémon interactions. The unexpectedly violent imagery within the typically child-friendly game has resonated strongly with the fanbase.

However, some fans offer a glimmer of hope, pointing to the Mamoswine full art card (Swinub's evolution) as a possible happy ending. This card shows Mamoswine looking upwards, seemingly watchful and protective of several Swinub. This interpretation attempts to alleviate the distress caused by the Weavile card, suggesting Mamoswine intervened.

The Space Time Smackdown set, themed around Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, includes 207 cards – fewer than Genetic Apex's 286, but with a higher percentage (52 out of 207) of rare alternate art, Star, and Crown rarity cards.

Despite the controversy, Creatures Inc. has yet to address the situation publicly. While a "Trade Feature Celebration Gift" was distributed, including 500 Trade Tokens and 120 Trade Hourglasses, the developer remains silent on player concerns regarding the Weavile card's artwork and has not responded to requests for comment. The lack of response has further fueled the ongoing discussion and debate within the Pokémon TCG community.
