Techland Adds Free Tower Raid Mode to Dying Light 2

Techland is continuously pushing the envelope with Dying Light 2, and the introduction of Tower Raid, a dynamic, roguelite-inspired mode, is testament to their commitment to innovation. After extensive testing last year, this eagerly awaited mode is now a permanent fixture in the game, providing players with a novel way to navigate the perilous, infected-infested world.

In Tower Raid, players step away from the familiar boots of Aiden Caldwell to embody one of four unique warriors: Tank, Brawler, Ranger, or Specialist. Each class brings its own set of abilities to the table, fostering a variety of playstyles and encouraging strategic teamwork. For thrill-seekers, the mode offers the option to shrink the team size or even brave the tower solo, ramping up the challenge.

The mode includes three difficulty settings—Quick, Normal, and Elite—each influencing the intensity and duration of the run. Thanks to procedural generation, every climb up the tower is unique, with constantly changing floor layouts and enemy encounters. Adaptability is crucial for survival in this ever-evolving environment.

To keep players engaged, Techland has implemented a new progression system where each failed attempt unlocks new abilities and weapons, enhancing the chances of success in subsequent runs. Within the tower, players can meet Sola, a mysterious merchant who offers exclusive rewards such as the Office Day Outfit, Kuai Dagger, and Silenced Pistol, available only to those skilled enough to earn them.

Even as Techland gears up for the launch of Dying Light: The Beast, their dedication to Dying Light 2 remains unwavering. Throughout 2025, players can look forward to a series of updates that will bring enhanced co-op mechanics, improved matchmaking, expanded community map integration, new Tower Raid characters, additional melee and ranged weapons, a new weapon class, an enhanced prologue, and significant graphical and technical optimizations.
