Another title bites the dust! Tencent Games has announced the end of service for its action MMORPG, Tarisland. It's only been a year since the game's official global debut. Tarisland first appeared in April 2023 and entered closed beta testing in China shortly after its reveal.
The game then launched early access in certain regions in June 2023, followed by a worldwide release in June 2024. Set in a Western fantasy world, Tarisland emphasized group activities, featuring 5-player dungeons, 10-player raids, and massive boss battles.
When is the Tarisland Shutdown?
Tarisland will cease operations on November 4th, 2025, on both Android and iOS. New player registrations and in-app purchases were disabled starting September 4th.
You can still log in and use any items in your inventory until the servers officially go offline on November 4th. After that date, the game will be removed from app stores and all services will end permanently.
Shutdown times vary by region: November 3rd at 19:00 GMT-5, November 4th at 00:00 GMT, and November 4th at 08:00 GMT+8. No offline version or refunds will be available after the shutdown. Full details can be found here.
What Are Your Thoughts?
Short-lived games are no longer surprising. With end-of-service announcements coming almost weekly, Tarisland's closure fits a familiar pattern—just another MMO with a brief run.
While praised for its dungeon and raid mechanics, the seasonal model didn't resonate with many players. Removing launch content later and a poorly received premium currency system further alienated the community.
These factors likely contributed to the shutdown. What do you think? Share your views in the comments. For more gaming updates, check out our next story on Monster Hunter Now Season 7: Advent of the Exploration Base.
