Tides of Annihilation: a beautiful action game announced

Tides of Annihilation, drawing inspiration from Arthurian legend, casts players as Gwendolyn, a young woman battling alongside spectral knights to rescue her family and mend a fractured world.

The game unfolds in a ravaged, modern-day London, overrun by a mysterious otherworldly invasion. Players will confront waves of enemies alongside their ghostly allies, engaging in intense combat against colossal, roaming knight-like creatures. Victory requires daring climbs onto these behemoths for close-quarters battles.

While visually impressive, the game's narrative currently lacks a compelling hook. Recent soulslike titles have successfully reimagined classic stories, such as the relatively unknown "Journey to the West" and the surprisingly dark twist on Pinocchio in Lies of P. However, the well-trodden King Arthur mythos fails to provide Tides of Annihilation with the same fresh perspective, despite its visual appeal.
